NORMANTON KNIGHTS V OULTON

Knights U18`s suffered another defeat this time against Oulton Raiders.Knights where always second best & went down 18-10 First half Knights scored through Jacob Crossland but went in 14-4 down. Second half didnt get much better with only Liam Brooke able to cross the whitewash with Crossland converting.Normanton coach gave the MOM award to Tom Alexander with Brooke second & Jordan Ratcliffe third

NORMANTON KNIGHTS vs OULTON

Knights U18`s 100% record in the league as gone after Doncaster Toll Bar beat them 27 - 26.
Knights had gone 9 games unbeaten in the league but Toll Bar seemed to want to win this game more than Knights & deserved the win.
First half Knights scored tries through Ryan Hill, Jacob Crossland & Arron Butterfield with Jack Schofield converting 1 to give Knights a 14-12 lead.
Second half Craig Wright scored a converted try for Knights but Doncaster lead 26 - 20 going in to the last 5 mins until powerhouse Liam Brooke bulldozed his way over the line which was converted to level the scores.
Toll Bar then got the decisive drop goal to secure the win.
Doncaster coaches picked Knights stand off Ryan Hill as the man of the match followed by Jordan Ratcliffe & Liam Brooke.
Knights will need to improve next week against Oulton if they want to win the league

NORMANTON KNIGHTS 20 STANLEY RANGERS 22

 
Normanton Knights U18`s played host`s to Stanley Rangers in the quarter final of the Yorkshire cup but couldn't pull off a win against higher division opponents going down 20 -22.
Knights didn't seem to be at the races in the first 30 mins as Stanley went in to a 22-0 lead and it looked like a drubbing was on the cards.
Knights impressive hooker Cole Winter managed to put some points on the board before halftime with a good individual try but it was unconverted.
At half time Knights captain Craig Wright rallied his troops with a inspirational team talk which put some life in to the team as they began a fight back.
Jacob Crossland was the first to cross the whitewash which he also converted.Scott Henderson then went in at the corner but the conversion was missed.Liam Brooke then powered his way over for a converted try to put the Knights within 2 points of Stanley. The game was in to the final minute when Knights got a penalty which would have levelled the scores but it came back off the upright leaving the Knights thinking what could have been and sending Stanley in to the semi final

ELLAND 6  NORMANTON KNIGHTS 26

After a 5 week lay off due to Xmas & bad weather Normanton Knights U18`s travelled to Elland & came out victoriuos  26-6.
Knights looked rusty but still had enough to beat Elland. Craig Wright was the first to score for Knights with a great individual try. Jacob Crossland was the next to score after receiving a pass from powerhouse Jordan Ratcliffe who had left Ellands defence in his wake.Ratcliffe then scored a try himself to give Knights a 14 - 6 interval lead.Second half Knights defence was superb as they kept Elland out & further tries came from Aiden Claunce & Scott Henderson. With Jack Schofield kicking 3 conversions in the game it gave a 26 -6 result.
Stand Off Ryan Hill was awarded the man of the match award from the opposition coaches with his clever kicking game & ball distribution causing havoc for Ellands defence.
Ratcliffe got 2nd with Wright 3rd 

NORMANTON KNIGHTS  18  MILFORD MARLINS 8

Normanton Knights U18`s played higher division Milford Marlins in the 2nd Round of the Yorkshire Cup & came out victorious 18 - 8 Knights started the better with Ayden Caunce scoring the first try for the hosts. Milford replied with a try before Chris Whyte crossed the whitewash to give Knights the lead again. It was Milford who had the last word in the first half with another unconverted try to have the halftime scoreline level at 8 - 8 Second half Knights dominated with Liam Brookes scoring a unconverted try for Knights to put the home team in front.With Man of the match Craig Wright crossing the try line for Knights & Jack Schofield converting it give ther final score 18 -8 to Knights.The whole team was awarded the 2nd MOM for the effort they put in with outstanding defence to keep Div 1 Milford at bay

Normanton Knights 32  York Acorn 12

Normanton Knights U18`s continued their good run in the league with a 32 -12 home victory against York Acorn.
The conditions didnt really help for a good game but Knights dominated through out.First half tries came from Arron Butterfield Craig Wright Chris Whyte and Jordan Ratcliffe with Jacob Crossland converting 2 gave Knights a 20 - 4 lead at half time.Second half tries from Scott Henderson & Ratcliffe with Crossland converting both gave the hosts a comfortable victory.Man of the match went to Ratcliffe with Grant Pavlitski 2nd & Wright taking 3rd 

NORMANTON KNIGHTS  VS FRYSTON WARRIORS

Fryston`s 12 men gave the league leaders a real tough game & it wasnt until the last 5 mins that Knights had day light in the scoreline.If a couple of kicks had bounced right for Fryston the game would have been theirs.It was Fryston who took a 12 - 0 lead before Jacob Crossland scored a try for Knights but he was unable to convert it and Knights went in 12-4 down at halftime.Second half Knights tried to up the game & it wasnt long before Tom Abbott crossed the whitewash with Crossland converting it closed the gap to 2 points.Craig Wright was the next to score & with Crossland converting gave Knights the lead but some bad discipline from Fryston put them down to 11 men.
Knights really should have put the game to bed against 11 but Fryston never gave up & Knights scould only score 2 further tries through Arron Butterfield & Crossland only 1 was converted. Fryston scored a converted try Man of the match was awarded to Jordan Ratcliffe with Wright 2nd & Crossland 3rd
