U11s Season 2010-2011

NORMANTON KNIGHTS v WIBSEY

Normanton Knights U11's kept their unbeaten record going whilst playing hosts to Wibsey on Saturday. The Knights showed great imagination with the ball in hand and were awesome in defence. Man of the Match Matthew Simpson and Top Tackler James Lingard distributed the ball well, whilst most improved Liam Barsby worked well in attack. Tries came from Lewis Carr(2) Bradley Jones, Liam Overall and Adam Jordan. Lingard added 2 conversions to the tally.

NORMANTON KNIGHTS v FRYSTON WARRIORS

Normanton Knights U11's were hosts to Fryston Warriors. Normanton Scored first through Lewis Carr but Fryston pulled level soon after and left Normanton standing. James Lingard was the only other Knight to cross the whitewash, Thomas Hutchinson converted 2 from 2 but the Knights were out played by the visitors. Carr was Man of the Match, Lingard was top tackler and Leo Wright was the most improved.

RODLEY ROCKETS v NORMANTON KNIGHTS

Normanton Knights U11's travelled to Rodley Rockets in another excellent display of open Rugby. Adam Jordan Opened the scoring with the 1st of 2 tries, not to be out done Man of the Match Lewis Carr got 2 of his own. Top Tackler Matthew Simpson bagged 1 along with Connor Cambridge. Most improved performance went to Leo Wright. Tom Hutchinson kicked 3 from 6 for the extras.

NORMANTON KNIGHTS v YORK ACORN

Normanton Knights U11's played against York Acorn; an excellent performance from both sides but the Knights opened the scoring through Adam Jordan. Lewis Carr bagged a hat trick of tries and Man Of The Match James Lingard got two of his own. Matthew Simpson added two conversions, Adam Jordan, Thomas Hutchinson and Most Improved Conner Cambridge also added the extras. Liam Barsby was the Top Tackler.

FRYSTON WARRIORS v NORMANTON KNIGHTS

Normanton Knights U11's travelled to Fryston Warriors at the weekend. The Knights stuck first with Man of The Match Adam Jordan crossing for the first of his hat trick and the Knights went into the break the better team. However Fryston came back in the second half to take the spoils. Lewis Carr bagged a try for himself along with the Top Tackler award. Most improved performance came from Thomas Roche. Thomas Hutchinson converted 3 from 4.

NORMANTON v DEWSBURY MOOR

Normanton Knights U11's hosted Dewsbury Moor at the weekend in an evenly matched game which saw both teams cross the line once in each half to finish a draw. Adam Jordan took the Opposition's Man of The Match award opened the scoring again for the Knights breaking the Moor's defensive line and sprinting 3/4 length of the field to score under the sticks. Tom Hutchinson took the extras closely followed by Moor's reply and conversion. Dead level at the break once again Normanton took back the lead through Connor Cambridge with a cheeky scoot from acting 1/2 1 meter out and Matty Simpson took the extras. Moor again scored and converted to end the game level. Most improved performance went to Liam Overall, with Brad Jones taking the Top Tackler accolade.

WIBSEY v NORMANTON

Normanton Knights U11's travelled to Wibsey on Saturday. The Knights opened the scoring with Man of the Match Lewis Carr's first of his 4 tries in a full length magnificent show of pace. Top tackler Matty Simpson showed the way leading the defence which was breached only 3 times whilst Adam Jordan Bagged 2 tries for himself and most improved performer Valta Stone also crossed the whitewash. Thomas Hutchinson converted 4 from the 7.

Normanton Knights v Wetherby bulldogs

Normanton Knights U11's travelled to Wetherby Bulldogs and out performing them in all aspects of the game. Bulldogs scored first in a dubious try following a forward pass, but not disheartened the Knights turned on their dominance. Man of the Match Lewis Carr covered most of the field in defence and showed the way for the Knights with a superb hat trick of individual tries. Thomas Roche turned on some fancy footwork from acting half for a try of his own earning himself the most improved accolade. Thomas Hutchinson also crossed the line for the Knights, whilst converting 4 from 5. Top tackler was Liam Barsby.

NORMANTON KNIGHTS V FRYSTON WARRIORS

Normanton Knights U11's maintained bragging rights over Fryston Warriors on Saturday. The Knights came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders with another display of creative rugby. Adam Jordan lead the way in a Man of The Match performance in attack with numerous driving runs and opened the scoring with the Knights first try. Top tackler Matthew Simpson lead the defence and bag 2 tries for himself. Most improved performance came from Connor Cambridge. Bradley Jones scored his first try of the season following great support play. James Lingard also crossed the whitewash for the Knights. Thomas Hutchinson Converted 3 and Simpson converted 1. 

Saturday 16th October

Normanton Knights V Wetherby Bulldogs

Normanton Knights U11's out played the Wetherby Bulldogs both in attack and defence. Normanton were first to score with a searching run from Matthew Simpson off loading in the tackle to Adam Jordan who finished the move over the line. Wetherby replied only for Simpson to bag one for himself minutes later and Lewis Carr rounded off the Knights first half. Liam Overall kept the score board ticking after the break with Wetherby again responding in a lapse of concentration from the Knights. Lewis Carr had the last word, as in the first half, with his second try of the game. Man of the Match Thomas Hutchinson converted 3 from 3 and Top Tackler Simpson converted the other 2. Most Improved performance came from Carr and Leo Wright.

Saturday 9th October

Normanton Knights v Newsome Panthers

Normanton Knights U11's hosted Newsome Panthers at the weekend. James Lingard gave a Man Of The match performance showing great vision with 2 punts of the ball which both Liam Barsby and Matthew Simpson Capitalised on to go into the break all square. Adam Jordan pulled the Knights clear at the start of the second half with a great driving run. The Knights then lost heart due to too many changes and Newsome were victors with 3 tries. Top Tackler was Simpson and Most improved was Barsby.

Saturday 2nd October 

Fryston Warriors  v  Normanton Knights

Normanton Knights U11's were away to Fryston Warriors in another great display of open Rugby. Matthew Simpson opened the scoring for the Knights With James Lingard following close behind. Fryston came back with a try of their own only to concede to try's from Adam Jordan and Valta Stone (his first for the Knights). With Normanton leading at the break, Fryston replied with 5 tries in the second half but Jordan responded adding an hat trick to the one in the first half in the Man of The Match performance. Thomas Hutchinson was most improved kicking 5 from 5 conversions and Simpson kicked the other 2. Liam Barsby was the top tackler for Normanton in this thrilling game.

Saturday 25th September

NORMANTON KNIGHTS v DEWSBURY MOOR

Normanton Knights U11's Hosted Dewsbury Moor in a highly competitive game. Connor Cambridge opened the scoring for Normanton in the fifth minute but Dewsbury came back 3 mins later. Liam Barsby gave the Knights the lead again with Dewsbury hitting back just before the break to leave all square at the break. Dewsbury scored first in the second half, but Normanton  Hit straight back with Adam Jordan and Liam Overall crossing the line. Dewsbury again fought back with the final try of the game. debutante Valta Stone was awarded the most improved, Top tackler was James Lingard and Man of The Match went to Liam Overall.

Saturday 18th September

WIBSEY JUNIORS v NORMANTON KNIGHTS

Normanton Knights U11's were away to Wibsey Juniors in a nail biter of a game that went to the final Kick of the ball. Adam Jordan Opened the scoring with the first of 2 joined by James Lingard who got 2 of his own. Matthew Simpson was the other Knight who crossed the line. Simpson converted 4 out of the 5 for the extras in what could only be described as very difficult kicking conditions. Most improved performance came from Thomas Roche with a great display in attacking rugby. Top Tackler was Simpson and for the second week running Bradley Jones was the man of the match.

Saturday11th september
